Couple Hiring A Convertible In Cairns

Barron Gorge

Why you want to go:

Situated in a world heritage listed rainforest, almost 250 metres of cascading water carves its way down into the deep Barron Gorge. Barron Falls is an impressive waterfall and one of the largest in the Cairns region.

How to get there:

Unfortunately, there are no buses or any regular public transport heading to the Barron Falls lookout, so you might as well make the most of the scenic drive with a convertible. Roof down, cool, fresh rainforest air – a day you’re sure to remember!

It takes approximately 45 minutes to drive to Barron Falls from Cairns CBD, where you can pick up a convertible from our depot.

Take the Captain Cook Highway heading north and then turn onto Kennedy Highway. You’ll go through the town of Smithfield before winding your way up the mountain through to Kuranda.

Once you pass the small town of Kuranda, you will see signs pointing the way to the waterfall. The drive will take you through the rainforest and onto Barron Falls road. After a while, you will arrive at the waterfall and walking trail car park.

A very easy 20-minute circuit walk will take you along a raised boardwalk to the Barron Falls lookout. The walk is a unique spectacle and an experience like no other.

Marvel at this World Heritage-listed, ancient rainforest as you walk through the canopy high above the forest floor.
